Rural Health Group is dedicated to providing accessible medical and dental care throughout Eastern North Carolina. As part of its ongoing commitment to serving local communities, the organization recognized the need to modernize its Enfield medical clinic. In addition to updating the existing facility, Rural Health Group sought to expand services by adding an on-site pharmacy, creating a more convenient healthcare experience for patients.

To bring this vision to life, Rural Health Group partnered with Gontram Architecture and Ten Penny Construction through an architect-led Design-Build delivery process. While the pharmacy addition itself was relatively straightforward from a construction standpoint, integrating the new space into a 40-year-old building presented unique architectural challenges. The project required thoughtful planning to ensure the addition complemented and enhanced the existing structure.

A key focus of the renovation was creating a cohesive and modern appearance for the entire facility. By applying a unified architectural design to both the existing clinic and the new pharmacy addition, the team transformed the building’s exterior with a fresh, updated look and feel. The result is a revitalized healthcare facility that better reflects Rural Health Group’s mission while improving access to essential services for the Enfield community.
